Friendship Centers of Emmet County delivered the first Meals on Wheels in Emmet County over 50 years ago on December 4, 1972.
The Meals on Wheels Program provided through Friendship Centers of Emmet County offers homebound seniors a nutritional safety line by preparing and delivering hot meals Monday through Friday, as well as frozen meals for weekends and holidays. In addition, the Meals on Wheels driver also serves as an important daily wellness check for isolated seniors, many of whom receive little or no human contact.
We are asking for your support to Brighten the Holidays by sponsoring Meals on Wheels in December! We could not do what we do, without the support of our community and we thank you!
Meals on Wheels Meal Sponsor With a donation of $500 your business can sponsor a meal on any day of your choosing. Your donation will be acknowledged with each meal given that day and on social media. You may also send a flyer or brochure to be handed out with meals. We would love to have a sponsor for each day in December.
Meals on Wheels Fruit/Dessert Sponsor With a donation of $100 your business can sponsor the fruit/dessert on any day of your choosing. Your donation will be acknowledged with each fruit or dessert given that day and on social media. We would love to have a sponsor for each day in December.
Friendship Centers currently serves an average of 750 hot, nutritional, meals per week to 140 homebound seniors. With your support, the Meals on Wheels program can continue to address food insecurity and malnutrition, combat social isolation, enable independence, and improve health for older adults.
Thank You! Our donors are appreciated as we work hand in hand to help senior citizens thrive. You will be recognized through Friendship Centers’ Facebook page, website, and Silver Threads newsletter.
