Upcoming Field Trips
Take part in experiencing the beauty of Northern Michigan with local field trips from the Petoskey Friendship Center.
On Wednesday, September 18, view the beauty at the Thorne Swift Nature Preserve. This one and a half mile walk includes 950 feet of Lake Michigan shoreline with a dune observation platform. Walk is guided by a representative of Little Traverse Conservancy. Wear sturdy walking shoes. Bus departs Petoskey Friendship Center at 12:45 p.m. and will pick up at the preserve at 2:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, October 2, experience the colors from above with a chairlift ride at Boyne Highlands. Enjoy a 15-minute ride to the top of the mountain, walk a few trails, and take in the view. When you’re ready to head back down, just take a seat for another beautiful ride. Cost is $5 per person. Wear sturdy walking shoes.
Transportation for the field trips is free of charge, courtesy Friendship Centers of Emmet County. Sign up for field trips at the Petoskey Friendship Center or contact Enrichment Director, Lynn Gentner, at (231) 347-3211, ext. 19 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
