Congregate Meals

FCEC’s Congregate Meal Program is intended to address both the nutritional and social needs of our community’s older citizens by providing balanced, hot meals at affordable prices. Special events, presentations, musical performances, and holiday parties bring variety and entertainment every month.

Dining Room meals: Enjoy lunch, served Monday through Friday at noon, at the Petoskey Friendship Center and the Huber Senior Center.

Lunch is available for a minimum suggested donation of $3.00 per person aged 60 and over and their spouse. MI Bridge cards are accepted. No one is turned away for an inability to contribute.

    Note from the Director

    Greetings Friends:

Welcome! We are pleased to have provided services to seniors in our community for over 55 years. This year marks our 50th anniversary of Meals on Wheels service. Look around our website to learn more about our services, programs, and special events. We strive to offer something for every senior. If you have the opportunity, we would love to meet you in person. Stop in for lunch Monday-Friday at noon or for a quick visit to learn about enrichment offerings. I look forward to meeting you.

    Kind regards,

    Denneen Smith, MSHS Executive Director

Meals on Wheels is so much more than a hot meal!

Meals on Wheels (home-delivered meals) are available to Emmet County residents (60yrs+) for a minimum suggested donation of $3.00 per meal. No one is turned away for an inability to contribute.

Hot, home-delivered meals are provided five days per week in Emmet County. Available for both short and long-term situations to those who are permanently homebound and those recovering from illness or surgery who are unable to attend a congregate meal site. Homebound seniors receive a wellness check with each meal delivery. Eligibility is determined when you call and is followed by an initial assessment by a registered nurse with a follow-up every six months.

We prepare cooked frozen meals for those who need meals on weekends and holidays and shelf-stable meals for emergency closures. Breakfast foods are also available; call for details.

Seniors can count on a friendly face appearing at their doorstep at an appointed time Monday through Friday with a nutritious meal and smile!
