Let’s Go Kayaking
Little Traverse Land Conservancy Education Specialist, Sarah Koetje, will be leading senior kayak adventures again this summer. The Conservancy provides kayaks and life jackets free of charge.
Round Lake is shallow and calm, making it a perfect place for kayaking, especially for first-timers. Six lucky seniors will join Sarah and a Friendship Center team member for a smooth hour-and-a-half paddle along the shores of beautiful Round Lake during each session. Sarah will give a kayaking overview and safety instructions before going into the water.
Choose from the following time slots:
Wednesday, June 21 at 10:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday, July 12 at 10:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday, August 16 at 10:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.
(So more people can enjoy the experience, please only sign up for one timeslot. You can be put on a waiting list for other slots if they don’t fill.)
We will meet at the DNR boat launch on Powell Road, one mile east of Harbor-Petoskey Road.
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that can get wet!
