Congregate Meals

FCEC's meal programs are intended to address both the nutritional and social needs of our community’s older citizens by providing balanced, hot meals at affordable prices.

Congregate Meals: Enjoying lunch at one of our local senior centers provides an ideal opportunity to enjoy a flavorful meal prepared by a certified chef and to meet new people in an open, congenial atmosphere. We are the Friendship Centers, after all! Special events, presentations, musical performances, and holiday parties bring variety and entertainment to every month. FCEC offers lunch at three congregate meal sites in Emmet County:

  • Petoskey Center: Lunch served Monday through Friday at noon.
  • Pellston Center: Lunch served Tuesday, and Thursday at noon.
  • Huber (Brutus) Center: Lunch served Monday, Wednesday and Friday at noon.

The meal is available on a donation basis and no one will ever be turned away due to an inability to contribute. Suggested donation for seniors age 60 and over and their spouses is $3.00 per person. Guests under 60 accompanying a senior are welcome to join us for $5.00 per person.

Healthy Communities

Building Healthy Communities Video
The Building Healthy Communities grant is a collective effort of the Health Department of Northwest Michigan, Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities, District Health Department #10, and Taste the Local Difference. The grant helped Friendship Centers of Emmet County improve the ability to serve healthier, locally grown foods to older adults in Emmet County.
