Ceramics Painting
Create works of art with our painting groups. A ceramics group will be joining the regular painting group on Mondays at 12:30 p.m. at the Petoskey Friendship Center. A variety of items to paint will be available for purchase ranging from $5 to $10. Volunteer leader Melissa will provide all necessary painting supplies for the first session.

Accompanist Needed
FCEC Chorus is in search of an accompanist. If you would like to join the choir as a singer and/or a piano player visit the Petoskey Friendship Center on Friday mornings to meet with Meredith.

Maximizing Your Medicare
Sign up at the Petoskey Friendship Center and receive a free Medicare book for attending this presentation held on Monday, September 24 at 1:00 p.m. at 1322 Anderson Road, Petoskey. For more information call Northern Michigan Elder Law at 231-347-7777.

FCEC Theater
Join us on Wednesday, September 26 for the movie I Can Only Imagine. You provide the tissues and we'll provide the popcorn. Showtime begins at 1:00 p.m. Movie and popcorn is free to those age 60 and older and their spouses.

Faces and Places II Art Show
The art show, held on Monday, October 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., will feature still life and landscapes by artists age 60 and older. Exhibits will be on display to the public, free of charge to view, at the Petoskey Friendship Center. The FCEC painting group has been meeting for over twenty years. The class is held on Mondays at 12:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of the Petoskey Friendship Center.

Bake Sale
FCEC's Fall Bake Sale is Wednesday, October 3 starting at 9:00 a.m. If you would like to donate homemade goodies, please drop them off starting at 8:30 a.m. or on Tuesday afternoon prior to 4:00 p.m. For more information call the Enrichment Director at (231) 347-3211.

Identity Theft Prevention Training
The Identity Theft Assistance Project and Friendship Centers of Emmet County present Identity Theft Prevention Training. Join us for an informative presentation on identity theft and learn ways to help protect yourself from becoming a victim. If you or a senior you know is a victim of identity theft learn what steps to take next. Presentations take place at the Petoskey Friendship Center on Wednesday, October 3 at 12:30 p.m. and at the Pellston Friendship Center on Thursday, October 4 at 12:30 p.m.

Fall Color Tour
Join us for a free fun and relaxing ride 
to Greenwood Sanctuary on Thursday, October 4. Stroll the trail or ride the people mover along Windswept Lake. Enjoy a short presentation by Greenwood Foundation staff and eat lunch under the gazebo or in the cottage. Bus departs Petoskey Friendship Center at 9:00 a.m. and arrives back to the center around 2:00 p.m. Pack a lunch and dress for the weather. Contact the Enrichment Director, Lynn Gentner, at (231) 347-3211 to sign up.

Hearing Testing
Free hearing tests will be offered for persons age 55 and older at the Huber (Brutus) Friendship Center on Wednesday, October 17 beginning at 9:00 a.m. An audiology technician from Petoskey Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists will be conducting the tests. If you have been experiencing hearing loss, please make an appointment to get your hearing checked. Appointments are necessary for this free service and can be made by calling the Huber Senior Center at (231) 529-8803 on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Winter Weather Policy

If Petoskey Public Schools are closed due to weather, the Petoskey, Pellston, and Huber Centers will be closed and all services will be suspended at all locations. Meals on Wheels will not be delivered on these days.

If Pellston Public Schools are closed due to weather, the Pellston Center will be closed. If Petoskey Schools are open on this day, all other services will be operating as usual.

If either Pellston or Alanson Public Schools are closed due to weather, the Huber (Brutus) Center will be closed. If the Petoskey Schools are open on this day, all other services will be operating as usual.

Save Your Grocery Receipts

We appreciate grocery receipts from Oleson's Markets and D&W Fresh Markets. You may bring receipts into any one of our Centers or mail them to FCEC, 1322 Anderson Road, Petoskey, MI 49770. This is a great way to bring in additional dollars to support our programs.
