Accompanist Needed

FCEC Chorus is in search of an accompanist. If you would like to join the choir as a singer and/or a piano player visit the Petoskey Friendship Center on Friday mornings to meet with Meredith.



Ceramics Painting

Create works of art with our painting groups. A ceramics group will be joining the regular painting group on Mondays at 12:30 p.m. at the Petoskey Friendship Center. A variety of items to paint will be available for purchase ranging from $5 to $10. Volunteer leader Melissa will provide all necessary painting supplies for the first session.




Hearing Testing
Free hearing tests will be offered for persons age 55 and older at the Huber (Brutus) Friendship Center on Wednesday, October 17 beginning at 9:00 a.m. An audiology technician from Petoskey Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists will be conducting the tests. If you have been experiencing hearing loss, please make an appointment to get your hearing checked. Appointments are necessary for this free service and can be made by calling the Huber Senior Center at (231) 529-8803 on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Entertainment
Stu Fenton and Sal Page are returning to the Petoskey Friendship Center to entertain us during lunch on Thursday, October 18. Entertainment begins at 11:30 a.m. Let's give them a warm welcome.

Emmet County EMS Presentation
The Emmet County EMS will have an ambulance and equipment on display at Friendship Centers of Emmet County during lunch on Thursday, October 18 at the Pellston Friendship Center, on Friday, October 19 at the Huber (Brutus) Senior Center, and on Tuesday, October 23 at the Petoskey Friendship Center. Listen to a short presentation about signs of stroke and when to call 911. Find out how to save on potential medical expenses and hear about other services they provide.

FCEC Theater
The Leisure Seeker, a 2017 comedy-drama based on the novel by Michael Zadoorian, will be playing at the Petoskey Friendship Center on Wednesday, October 24 at 1:00 p.m. Starring Donald Sutherland and Helen Mirren, the couple take one last road trip in their vintage RV before his Alzheimer's and her cancer catch up with them.

Entertainment
The popular Brad Hersey will be performing at the Huber Senior Center on Friday, October 26 during lunch. Entertainment begins at 11:30 a.m.

Halloween
Dress up if you wish for a Halloween Luncheon on Wednesday, October 31. Children from area preschools will be parading through the Petoskey and Huber Senior Centers during lunch.

Veterans Coffee & Donut Hour
Mrs. Slack's 5th Grade class from Sheridan Elementary will return again this year to interview veterans and their spouses on Thursday, November 8 during the Veterans Coffee & Donut Hour at 10:00 a.m. Students will have a list of appropriate questions, preapproved by the teacher, to ask. If you are a veteran or a spouse of a veteran and would like to share your story with the next generation, please join us at the Petoskey Friendship Center. The students will also be helping with lunch afterward.

Veterans Day Luncheon
FCEC's annual Veteran's Day Luncheon, with a group photo of all veterans in attendance, will take place on Monday, November 12 at the Petoskey Friendship Center. Lunch begins at noon with soup & salad bar starting at 11:30 a.m., and is available for a minimum suggested donation of $3.00 for seniors age 60 and older and their spouses. Non-senior guests, accompanying a senior, may purchase lunch for this event for $5.00 per person.

Thanksgiving Luncheon
Give thanks with us on Wednesday, November 21 for a Thanksgiving Feast consisting of turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, biscuits, and pumpkin dessert. Lunch will be served at noon at the Petoskey and Huber Friendship Centers. The Petoskey High School Girls Basketball team will be joining us at the Petoskey Center. This event is reserved for those age 60 and older and their spouses for a suggested minimum donation of $3.00 per person.

Reducing Your Fall Risk
In partnership with Northern Michigan Sports Medicine Center, FCEC presents "Reducing Your Fall Risk" on Tuesday, December 11 at 12:30 p.m. at the Petoskey Friendship Center. Explore ways to stay safe and prevent falls with Physical Therapist Jeff Samyn.
